The State Forest Stewardship Coordinating Committee assists DNR in scoring and evaluating federal funding opportunities made available through the U.S. Forest Service’s Forest Legacy Program (FLP). The Committee is chaired and administered by the State Forester and consists of leaders from local government, consulting foresters, environmental organizations, the forest products industry, forest landowners, conservation organizations, several State agencies, and other interest groups. Appointments are approved and made by the State Forester. Members do not meet on regular basis; they receive individualized instructions concerning grant scoring and funding evaluations.
