Contract Harvesting with DNR
DNR uses a two-step process to select harvesters for Contract Harvest timber projects. This approach ensures that only qualified contractors participate in bidding and project execution.
Step 1: Join the Eligible Harvester Pool
To be considered for contract harvesting projects, harvesters must first respond to DNR’s Request for Qualifications. This step establishes a pool of pre-qualified contractors and identifies their preferred working areas.
- Request for Qualification submissions are due by the 15th of each month.
- Once qualified, a harvester remains in the eligible pool for two years from the date of acceptance.
- Note: Qualification does not guarantee selection for future projects.

Step 2: Submit Quotes for Available Projects
Once projects are ready, DNR will send a Request for Quotes (RFQ) to eligible harvesters in the pool. This gives you the opportunity to bid on specific Contract Harvest projects.
