Public Hearing for Proposed State Trust Land Exchange in Stevens County

Lands to be Consolidated for More Efficient Management, Enhanced Public Access

The public is invited to a presentation and public hearing on June 5, 2025, about a proposed exchange of state trust lands. The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will present information and receive public comments about a proposal to trade up to 118.78 +/- acres in Stevens County for up to 142.60 +/- acres of private property in Stevens County, with the objectives to consolidate trust lands, improve land management efficiencies for trust revenue, support fish and wildlife habitat, and to enhance access to trust lands. 

DNR is accepting written comments about the proposed land exchange until 5 p.m., June. 20, 2025. Email comments to exchanges@dnr.wa.gov. Mail written comments to the Department of Natural Resources, Strategic Planning Office, Attn: Dunn Mountain 3 Land Exchange, PO Box 47014, Olympia, WA 98504-7014.

DNR’s future management of the acquired property will be for trust revenue and fish and wildlife habitat.

Washington State to Fogel Enterprises LLC: Secs. 16, T33N, R39E, W.M., Stevens County, Washington; comprising 118.78 acres, more or less.

Fogel Enterprises LLC to Washington State: Sec. 30, T33N, R39E, W.M., Sec. 29, T33N, R39E, W.M., Sec. 4, T34N, R38E, W.M., Sec. 9, T34N, R38E, W.M., Stevens County, Washington; comprising 142.60 acres, more or less.
