Managing Washington’s Forested Trust Lands

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages over 2.4 million acres of forested state trust lands. These lands are carefully stewarded to support long-term timber production, protect habitat and water resources, and provide public recreation opportunities.

Revenue generated from timber and other forest products on these lands directly benefits public services—supporting K-12 schools, universities, state facilities, and local governments across many counties.
