Sahara Creek Horse Campground and Nicholson Trails Work Party

8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

 
Join DNR staff and partners from the Back Country Horsemen of Washington, Pierce County Chapter, in the maintenance of facilities in Sahara Creek Horse Campground including painting, gravel work and garbage clean up. Groups will also be performing maintenance work on the Nicholson Trail System including trail repair, tread hardening, and infrastructure maintenance. 
 
What to bring
Volunteers should wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring work gloves, water, snacks and lunch for the day. Long sleeves, pants and leather boots with lug soles are recommended for trail and campground maintenance. 
 
Directions
Meet at the Sahara Creek Horse Campground (262nd Avenue East, Ashford, WA 98304) off of Highway 706 East, 6 miles past the town of Elbe. Get directions
