Join DNR staff and volunteers for campground maintenance, which will include
building and installing picnic tables, installing fire rings, and litter pick up.

What To Bring
Please bring water, lunch, gloves, boots and a shovel and hard hat if you’ve got one.  Dress for working outdoors.

Teanaway Community Forest
Meet at the Teanaway Campround

Directions

  • From east-bound I-90, take exit 85 and turn left to WA-970 and then right onto WA-970. 
  • Continue 6.5 miles and turn left onto Teanaway Road. 
  • Continue 7.5 miles and turn left onto West Fork Teanaway Road. 
  • In .5 miles the campground will be on the left.

  • Start at I-5 exit 240.
  • Go north on Samish Lake Road for .5 miles.
  • Turn left on Barrel Springs Road.
  • Go one mile.
  • Turn right on B-1000 Road.
  • Go 1 mile. to trailhead.

Friends of Capitol Forest monthly work party
Join DNR staff and volunteers from Friends of Capitol Forest to celebrate National Trails Day. Work to improve road crossing areas, remove wood supports on beams, and drainage. Children are welcome. There is often a mountain bike ride after the work party.

What To Bring
Bring clothes appropriate for weather conditions and work gloves. Bring your lunch and something to drink if desired. Tools will be provided.

  • Turn left for .1 mile to trailhead.

Join DNR staff and partners from Wenatchee Mountain Masters to pick up litter and maintain the camping area.

What to Bring
Gloves, water, lunch and dress appropriately for working outdoors.  Volunteers are encouraged to bring ATVs, but must meet necessary requirements: flag, current registration, spark arrester, helmet must be worn.

Directions

  • From I-90: Take Highway-26 East via exit 137 toward Othello/Pullman. 
  • Continue about 1 mile and turn right onto Highway-243. 
  • Continue about 7 miles and turn left onto Lower Crab Creek Road. 
  • In about 2 miles turn right into the Beverly Dunes ORV Area.

Sadie Creek Work Party
Join DNR staff to work on trails in the Sadie Creek trail system. Work duties include: construction of a 12-foot bridge, tread work, brushing and other duties to get Sadie ready for the summer.

What to Bring
Digging and brushing tools, gloves, boots, water, and lunch. Dress accordingly for weather and working outdoors. Also, feel free to bring your bike or ATV to help haul materials or just to get around. (If you have a trailer for the ATV please bring that as well).

  • From Port Angeles travel west on Highway 101.
  • Turn Right onto Highway 112 and follow for 18.4 miles.
  • Turn left onto East Twin River Road.

Trail 613 Log Out
Join DNR staff and partners from Eastern Washington Adventures to clear debris from Trail 613. Volunteers will be starting at Nasty Creek and continuing up Louie Way Gap to the snow level. Those wishing to participate should have a four-wheel drive ATV or Jeep and experience navigating moderate to difficult terrain.

Water, lunch, gloves, boots, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Nasty Creek Corrals

Directions

  • Exit I-82 to Valley Mall Boulevard. 
  • Left on Longfiber Road. Right onto Ahtanum for 13 miles.
  • Turn right onto North Fork Road at the Tampico Store.
  • Continue 3.5 miles and turn right on Nasty Creek Road. 
  • Corrals are at intersection of the North Fork Road and Nasty Creek Road.
