About the area
Green Mountain State Forest is a 6,000-acre working forest located a few miles west of Bremerton in Kitsap County. This popular year-round destination area attracts more than 50,000 recreational users each year.
What to do there
Green Mountain offers 13 miles of trails and recreation opportunities for a variety of activities including horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, camping, and other uses. The Green Mountain Horse Camp offer 16 campsites for first-come, first-served camping.
Hours of operation
Vehicular access to the campground and vista is closed from after Labor Day through the end of May. Foot traffic access is allowed year round.
Know before you go
Multiple timber harvests can and do occur within the Green Mountain State Forest. During an active timber sale, trails are temporarily closed or rerouted around the sale boundaries to ensure public safety.
