Here you will find geologic and related data for use in your Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. Most of the data provided here are in the ESRI ArcGIS 9.3 or 9.3.1 file geodatabase format, which may be used in ArcGIS, version 9.2 SP5 or later; other GIS software may also be able to use this file format. If you do not own GIS software that can use the geodatabase, ESRI provides free software, called ArcGIS Explorer, that is capable of viewing these data. Some of the data are in ESRI shapefile format, which can be used by a wide variety of GIS programs.
