The Washington State Geologic Information Portal provides geologic maps, data, and related information through the internet using interactive geographic information system technology. Through this online service offered by the Washington Division of Geology and Earth Resources, you can create a custom map using the Map Contents window and the zoom and pan tools, and find out more information about map features using the Identify tool.

Currently Available through the Portal
This initial release of the service offers:
- Geologic map information at 1:100,000 scale for the entire state
- Geologic map information at 1:250,000 scale for the entire state
- Geologic map information at 1:500,000 scale for the entire state
- Liquifaction susceptibility mapping for the entire state
- Site class mapping for the entire state
- Seismic design category mapping
- Several types of base information (such as county boundaries, roads, rivers, township/range, etc.)

Because of the volume of data available through this portal, data loading and identification operations are not instantaneous--we thank you for your patience.

Efforts are underway to prepare more data layers to:

- Locations of Surface Mine Reclamation Permits
- Geologic map index
- Geothermal Resources of Washington
