COMMUNITY MEETING ON PROPOSED BOAT LAUNCH FOR ELK RIVER NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION AREA

OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 11, 2012, to review design concepts providing water access for hand-launched and small, trailered boats in Beardslee Slough at Elk River Natural Resources Conservation Area (NRCA).

Why:
| DNR wants to identify the best placement and configuration for a public boat launch and parking area for small, trailered boats and car-top canoes and kayaks at Beardslee Slough in the Elk River NRCA. Initial funding comes from a Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office grant funded by the 2011 Washington Legislature. |

| DNR is seeking public input on preliminary boat launch concepts during the September 11 meeting. Design concepts will be presented at the September 11 meeting. Notes of the meeting notes will be available on request after September 14.
