COMMUNITY MEETING ON PROPOSED BOAT LAUNCH FOR ELK RIVER NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION AREA

OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. on September 11, 2012, to review design concepts providing water access for hand-launched and small, trailered boats in Beardslee Slough at Elk River Natural Resources Conservation Area (NRCA).

|DNR wants to identify the best placement and configuration for a public boat launch and parking area for small, trailered boats and car-top canoes and kayaks at Beardslee Slough in the Elk River NRCA. Initial funding comes from a Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office grant funded by the 2011 Washington Legislature.|
|DNR is seeking public input on preliminary boat launch concepts during the September 11 meeting.
