How Do I Learn About Geology & Geohazards in My Area?

We recommend using the online interactive maps portal to learn about the geology and geohazards in your area.

After launching an interactive map theme that interests you (for example, Natural Hazards, or Tsunami Evacuation) you can launch the Find an Address widget (as seen below) to enter your address in the dialog box and automatically zoom the viewer to your address. Next, you can activate layers of interest to learn about the geology and hazards at that location. NOTE: you may need to zoom out a little in order to view certain datasets in your area.
