IN-PRINT PUBLICATIONS
Our publications list contains Washington Division of Geology and Earth Resources publications that are in print. Most can be purchased from either the Washington State Department of Printing General Store or our Olympia office (see below for details). Some publications are available on our website (as indicated by an internet address accompanying the publication description in the publication lists). All new division reports or maps are announced on our website.
Ordering Bulletins, Geologic Maps, Information Circulars, Reports of Investigations, Topographic Maps, and Some Miscellaneous Publications
These publications may be ordered from the Washington State Department of Printing. To order, note the publication series, number, and title of the desired publication(s) from our publications list before using the online General Store or visiting the Department of Printing in person (see the General Store website for address and directions). If you use the online General Store, select “Shop by Agency”, then “Department of Natural Resources (Geology Division)”. Publications in the General Store are organized by series, and listed prices include shipping and handling; follow the website instructions to complete your purchase.
Ordering Open File Reports, Digital Reports, and Some Miscellaneous Publications
These publications may be ordered by mail from our Olympia office; an order form is included with our publications list. All orders must be prepaid, including postage and handling; see order form. Please note that over-the-counter sales are no longer available. We cannot provide Open File Reports in classroom quantities; schools may order reports and copy them for classroom use. Please note that some Open File Reports are available only on our website.
OUT-OF-PRINT PUBLICATIONS
Many of our publications are out of print and no longer available for sale, but these, as well as publications still in print, are listed in our online bibliography and can be consulted at many public, university, and technical libraries. These publications can also be used in the Washington Geology Library in Olympia. If a publication is not on file at your local library, ask your librarian to arrange an interlibrary loan.
Out-of-print items are sometimes returned to the Division and are made available ‘first-come, first-served’. Availability changes often; e-mail lee.walkling@dnr.wa.gov for current availability.
