Chewelah area community prepares for future wildfire
Flowery Trail Community Association becomes first Firewise Community in Stevens County
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites the media to an award luncheon for the Flowery Trail Community Association as it becomes the first Firewise Community in Stevens County, Washington.
Communities earn national recognition from the Firewise Communities/USA® Program (www.firewise.org) for taking steps to reduce wildfire threats to their homes and community. Launched in 2002, Firewise gives communities the opportunity to learn how to prepare for the next wildfire.
