Commissioner of Public Lands announces first annual Volunteer Hero Award
Nominate a volunteer hero today – deadline September 28
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently accepting nominations for the Commissioner of Public Lands’ Volunteer Hero Award. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated leadership and commitment in their sustained service to the DNR Volunteer Program.
Volunteers play a key role in the success of many of DNR’s programs, including the Recreation and Natural Areas program. DNR is fortunate to have thousands of dedicated volunteers whose energy, enthusiasm, hard work, and time make it possible for visitors to enjoy safe, sustainable, and high-quality outdoor recreation experiences on DNR-managed lands.
