Ahtanum State Forest campgrounds to reopen after wildfire
All facilities will open for limited durations
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will open Ahtanum Meadows and Ahtanum Campground at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 30. They will be accessible by the North Fork Ahtanum Road. These sites were temporarily closed August 22 to assist with fire suppression efforts at the Diamond Butte fire.
The Middle Fork Road, which accesses Tree Phones Campground and Whites Ridge Trailhead, will continue to be closed during the week, but will reopen from 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday at 8 p.m. (closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 3). Please see May 22 media advisory for more information.
Snow Cabin Campground will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, for the duration of the weekend.
