Field outings highlight natural areas from May 7 – 14
OLYMPIA – To celebrate Natural Area Appreciation Week 2011, the state Department of Natural Resources will offer several activities for the public at natural areas throughout the state. Hike in a beautiful oak forest preserve, see the panorama from eagle peak, learn about bats, paddle a river on tour, hike through a salt marsh, and more.
Each public opportunity is guided by DNR natural area managers or scientists and highlights a different Natural Resources Conservation Area (NRCA) or Natural Area Preserve (NAP) that is managed by DNR. There also are a few of our partners’ offerings.
