2013 Legislative Priorities

• Reducing taxpayer burden by strenghtening the state's Derelict Vessel Removal Program (357 KB PDF)   
  Abandoned or derelict vessels pose a serious threat to public safety and to the environmental health of marine and freshwater ecosytems and cost the taxpayers millions of dollars. This legislation aims to improve vessel-owner accountability, prevent derelict and abandoned vessels from being left in Washington waters, and provide more solid funding to address these vessels.
• Continuing DNR's existing Contract Harvest Authority for State Trust Lands (456 KB PDF)
  DNR is requesting legislation to extend our existing contract harvest authorities.
• Clarifying DNR's authority to enter into cooperative agreements(427 KB PDF)
  Currently, DNR has limited authority to enter into cooperative agreements with non-profit organizations wishing to perform activities on state trust lands. This legislation seeks to improve our ability to enter into partnerships with a broader range of non-profit organizations, which will benefit  the state lands that DNR manages.
