Pacific Northwest Urban Forestry Online Technology Transfer

Welcome to the Urban Forestry Online Technology Transfer Page.  This page is a result of a cooperative project among the state urban and community forestry programs in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) to collaborate on urban forestry technology transfer.  The goal of this project is to provide natural resource professionals working in communities with low-cost training on the latest best management practices, research findings, and effective strategies for managing our urban and community forests.  The states are developing this project in the interest of being efficient, effective, and innovative in meeting your needs.  By developing a coordinated, online effort, the PNW region will create efficiencies in program delivery resulting in:
  • Reduced travel expenses
  • Outreach to cities that are geographically distant from the main state forestry agency office.
  • Cost savings to smaller cities in terms of reduced travel in order to receive traditional placed-based training
  • Expanding the sphere of educational offerings to include people who prefer to learn with online resources rather than place-based seminars.
By creating this innovative network, we will not only be more efficient with the use of taxpayer dollars but also more effective in reaching broad audiences we serve.
