Proposed Canoe Ridge land Exchange

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is interested in exchanging 20 acres of Common School Trust land for 20 acres of property owned by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, Ltd., in Benton County.

Purpose
The exchange is intended to replace non-productive state trust lands with property that will provide long-term revenue to the Trust.

Outreach
A public hearing was held on March 18, 2013, for the purpose of obtaining public testimony about this exchange. No testimony was received.

Project Status
DNR continues to collect more information about the parcels in the proposed exchange. If DNR decides the proposed exchange is beneficial to the trust, a proposal to complete the exchange will be presented to the Board of Natural Resources for consideration at a regularly scheduled meeting.
