Forestry Service Contracts

Contract Harvesting
The selection process for harvesters is a two step process. The first step is a Request For Statement of Qualifications (RFSOQ) to establish a pool of qualified harvesters and identify their working area. The due date for the RFSOQ is the 15th of each month. A qualified harvester will remain in the eligible harvester pool two years from the date of qualification. Successfully qualifying does not guarantee work. The Second step is sending out a Request For Quotes (RFQ) to qualified harvesters as contract harvest sales occur.

Harvest Unit Layout and Presales Work
Timber sales layout is primarily for the Forest Health Improvement Program. It is a two step process. The first step is a Request For Statement of Qualifications (RFSOQ) to establish a pool of qualified contractors and identify their working area. The RFSOQ is due May 29, 2007. After May 29, 2007, RFSOQ’s will be due at the end of each business quarter, March, June, September, and December. The RFSOQ will be effective until June 30, 2009. Successfully qualifying does not guarantee work. The second step is sending out a bid request to qualified contractors as Forest Health Improvement Projects occur.
