DNR and WSU Extension foresters to conduct workshop for landowners affected by the Slide Creek Fire
Free workshop is this Tuesday night in Colville
OLYMPIA – Foresters from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Washington State University extension program will present a free workshop for landowners whose properties were affected by the Slide Creek Fire.
The workshop will be held:
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Those attending the workshop will have the opportunity to get information on the following issues that landowners need to know after a wildfire:
- Survival of trees after a fire
- Bark beetles
- Forest practices rules
- How to select a logger
- Wildlife
- Reforestation
- Erosion control
Landowners who cannot attend the workshop can request an information package from DNR by calling 509-684-7474.
Forest landowners who were not directly affected by the fire are also welcome to attend.
The Slide Creek Fire started on August 26, 2010, and burned 989 acres. The fire is located near Arden, approximately 6 miles south of Colville, Washington.
