Board of Natural Resources to meet on Wednesday September 8
Meeting date delayed a day due to the September 7 closure of several state agencies due to employee furloughs
OLYMPIA – The Board of Natural Resources will move its next scheduled meeting to Wednesday, September 8 – one day later than the usual. The Board normally meets on the first Tuesday of each month. The date change was made because of the legislatively mandated furlough of several thousand state employees on Tuesday, September 7.
The agenda for the September meeting can be found online by going to www.dnr.wa.gov and searching for ‘Board of Natural Resources agendas’. The direct link to Board agenda is: http://www.dnr.wa.gov/BusinessPermits/Topics/OtherInteragencyInformation/Pages/bc_bnr_agendas_minutes.aspx
The Board sets policies to guide how the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages the state’s lands and resources. Its membership represents beneficiaries of the approximately 3 million acres of state trust lands that the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages for natural resource revenue. Beneficiaries of trust land revenue include public K-12 school construction, the University of Washington, Washington State University and local services in several Western Washington counties.
The Board is chaired by Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark, Washington’s 13th Commissioner of Public Lands since statehood in 1889. Goldmark also is the top administrator of DNR.
