Survey  Information Files Online

A comprehensive and statewide database of historic survey records is available for a fee to the public. These online records include data from government agencies, private surveyors, companies and railroads.

The charge for unlimited access to the database is $200 per year or $100 for three months. A free, one-time, two-hour full-function trial subscription is available upon request. Pricing structure is subject to change without notice.

Government Agencies

  • Federal General Land Office and Bureau of Land Management: Field notes and plats for the township, mineral, Homestead Entry Survey, Donation Land Claim, Indian reservations, allotment, and military reservation surveys. This file contains the official and duplicate notes and plats, the triplicate plats and the tract books.
  • State: Department of Natural Resources, Department of Transportation, University of Washington, the old Department of Conservation, Department of Fish and Wildlife.
  • Local: King County Aerial Survey, Tacoma Hydroelectric Project, various county plats, unrecorded plats of King County.
  • Other: United States Geological Survey, Washington State Reclamation Service, National Geodetic Survey, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Bonneville Power Administration, Civilian Conservation Corps, Washington or federal archives, International Boundary Commission, US Navy field books.
