August 23, 2013
Tour to feature field visits
This tour will feature field visits to a number of forest stands in southwest Washington to discuss how the Department considers economic, environmental and social goals as it manages State Trusts Lands. The tour will include discussion topics on silviculture, active management, and the conservation and management of forested habitat for the marbled murrelet. The tour will visit the Nemah and Elochoman landscapes.
Notice to Public
Members of the public who wish to participate in the field tour are encouraged to make a reservation by calling Meagan Gillum at 360.902.1103 by August 21, 2013.
Since a limited number of vehicles can be accommodated on the narrow forest roads, carpools and driving appropriate vehicles for terrain are encouraged. Public attendees are responsible for their own transportation, lunch, and hard hat. Tour maps will be available on the morning of the tour.
