Welcome to the Information Technology Division. Our job is to manage an information technology infrastructure for more than 1,200 DNR permanent employees in offices and worksites spread across the State of Washington. We administer a statewide communications network that links more than 2,000 personal computers and laptops at 24 regional work centers, six regional offices, and five locations in Olympia.
We’re also responsible for DNR’s computer hardware, software, secure voice-data networks, mobile radios, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping. Developing and improving these computing systems and networks is how we help DNR employees across Washington collaborate and work more effectively together.
Our latest challenge? As DNR moves into the 21st century, we are working to position DNR’s technology to play a role in digital government and e-commerce.
Our application developers, network system administrators, coordinators, project managers, analysts, programmers, and database administrators represent the array of skills needed for an efficient, successful organization. Our consulting and administrative services guide DNR’s acquisition, contracting, security, and planning of new information technology products and processes. We also develop web tools, enhance software, and support computerized accounting and payroll systems for DNR.
