The Forest Fire Advisory Board reviews and recommends changes to the forest fire prevention and suppression policies of the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). It also monitors and recommends expenditures and recoveries for the
Landowner Contingency Forest Fire Suppression Account, a fund supported by allotments from participating landowners to help pay certain emergency fire costs that affect their lands.
Meetings
The board meets twice a year, usually in spring and fall, or when there is a pressing or urgent matter that requires the board’s advice.

Membership
Board members are appointed by the Commissioner of Public Lands. They represent private and public forest landowners and other interested segments of the public, but do not need to represent specific groups or organizations. Board members should come from varied backgrounds and be interested in DNR’s fire programs.
